Dear Legionnaires and the American Legion Post 519 family,

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE.
Our winter solstice is approaching
fast, I hope this article finds everyone
well and prosperous. As we continue
with growing our Post, we constantly
come across obstacles that challenge
our fortitude. We continue to repair
and maintain the Post building and
kitchen equipment, recently we had

On a lighter note we have had some outstanding events in the past couple of months that have continued to bring us recognition in the community and also at the District 21 levels.

We have a number of events coming up in the near future, we are having Karaoke once a month on a Saturday when we don’t have a prior commitment, keep an eye out for our Labor Day event followed soon after by the Patriots Day, and of course Veterans Day will be celebrated on November 11th.

We held an American Legion Baseball fundraiser with a video appearance by baseball legend, Steve Garvey, this raised over $2500.

I would like to send out a huge thank you to our Sons of American Legion, they have graciously decided to purchase 50 new barstools for our Post. Thank you Ken Fort for taking the lead on this.

We have been having a great Karaoke night once a month, that has been well attended. We are having food provided on the 2nd and 4th Monday night by the American Legion Riders.

Our Labor day celebration and Patriots day event was a great success with many members attending both.

FYI we are holding the District 21 meeting at the Post on December 8, we will try to accommodate all our meetings and still have our Sunday brunch, more to follow on this event.

As most of you know we have had a change in the kitchen staff, the new crew is working hard to please everyone and is open to all suggestions.

While at the Post please remember to be respectful of all members and practice non-partisan attitudes while at the bar. Any deviation from this may result in being asked to leave.

As we continue to grow and prosper, let us keep in mind what we stand for at the Legion, as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness, we are here to help, provide guidance and social activities to all our veterans.

Again as always thank you for your continued support.
